About the Author – Bolton Williams

From a hill farm in Carmarthenshire, Bolton Williams (also known as Wendy) has long drawn inspiration from the nature and magic of her Welsh surroundings. A native Welsh speaker, she was born to creative parents who still reside in Carmarthenshire. After many years away, Bolton returned to the heart of Wales to reconnect with her roots and bring her vivid imagination to life.

With 13 titles in the Magical Mollyseries, Bolton has crafted a captivating world filled with homemade creatures, enchanted characters, and thrilling adventures. Her stories are steeped in Welsh myths, legends, and folklore, often set in real Welsh castles, where magical treasure hunts unfold. Each book is a page-turner, full of mystery and wonder—often keeping readers guessing right up until the final pages.

When she moved back to Wales, Bolton joined Rock Choir—a decision that transformed her life. Seeking confidence and connection in a new town, she found both through music and friendship. The choir has not only become her favourite hobby, but it also introduced her to her talented illustrator, Sharon Hinds. Sharon’s enchanting black-and-white drawings bring the Magical Molly world to life, and their creative partnership blossomed through the supportive and joyful choir community.

A devoted dog lover, Bolton has dedicated the series to her beloved Border Collie, Molly, who inspired the stories and continues to live on through them. Through interactive book signings and events, she encourages readers of all ages to unleash their creativity and embrace the magic of imagination.

Bolton is also a passionate rugby fan and enjoys the lively banter that comes with the sport. One of her biggest dreams is to one day watch the All Blacks play live in Auckland—a goal she’s determined to achieve.
